3D Scanning in Vallejo, CA

No place in our service area asks more of a scanner than Mare Island. The West Coast's first naval shipyard is now one of the region's largest adaptive-reuse districts, and its historic industrial buildings — machine shops, foundries, warehouses, and the structures around the dry docks — combine enormous interior volumes with a century and a half of alteration and a thin surviving paper record. Developers, architects, and structural and mechanical engineers working there need geometry that hand measurement cannot practically produce: bay spacing, truss bearings, clear heights, and the actual condition of walls and floors. One Trimble scanning campaign records all of it at survey grade, and every discipline works from the same cloud instead of its own field notes. Off the island, downtown and the St. Vincent's Hill Victorians present the same no-drawings problem at residential scale.

Vallejo is also a city of infrastructure. Interstate 80 crosses the Carquinez Strait on the Carquinez Bridge at the city's southern edge, Interstate 780 runs east toward Benicia, the causeway and Mare Island Strait separate the island from downtown, and the ferry terminal and waterfront carry piers, wharves, and shoreline structures on filled ground. Where a project involves that kind of asset we tie the scan to an observed survey control network and deliver clearance surveys, structural as-builts, and repeat epochs. Deliverables are registered point clouds in E57 or Autodesk RCP, DWG/DXF plans, sections and elevations, Revit models at LOD 200 or 300, and contours with a DTM where site grades are in scope.
