3D Scanning in Roseville, CA
We provide surveyor-led Trimble laser scanning across Roseville and South Placer County, delivering registered point clouds and scan-to-CAD drawings tied to survey control for medical, industrial, utility, and historic buildings.
3D Scanning in Roseville: Local Conditions
Roseville was built by the railroad, and its oldest buildings still show it. The Central Pacific and California Central lines crossed here in 1864 at a spot the maps called Junction, and when the Southern Pacific moved its terminal and shops from Rocklin in 1906 the town grew fast enough to add more than a hundred structures between 1911 and 1914. Union Pacific's J.R. Davis Yard now covers 780 acres and is the largest rail facility on the West Coast. Old Town's early-century brick and frame commercial buildings are the ones owners bring to a scanner: walls out of plumb, floors that have settled, additions nobody drew, and an architect who needs real sections and elevations before a renovation can be designed.
The newer city asks different questions. The City of Roseville's environmental review for the Kaiser Permanente medical center on Eureka Road planned for roughly 1.08 million gross square feet at buildout. Hospital renovation is scanning's best case: occupied floors, crowded ceiling plenums, and very little tolerance for a crew returning to re-measure. A scan captures the above-ceiling duct, pipe, and tray once, non-contact, inside a short access window. North of downtown, the light-industrial and distribution buildings along Foothills Boulevard, including the 124-acre Foothill Business Park, need clear heights, column grids, and slab deviation maps before racking or equipment goes in. On new steel we verify anchor bolts and structural steel to 1/8 inch from the scan, with total station check shots on any bolt group near tolerance. Roseville also runs its own electric utility, community-owned since 1912 with 18 substations, and fenced utility yards are well suited to a scan.
We are a licensed California land surveying firm based in the foothills east of Sacramento, not a national outfit flying a crew in to hand back an unregistered cloud. Primary control is GNSS, secondary control is total station, every scan is tied to that control, and control is held to 0.01 US survey feet relative to project control. We scan with a Trimble X9, check with a Trimble S3, and process in Trimble Business Center. Deliverables are registered, cleaned point clouds (E57, LAS, or RCP), scan-to-CAD plans, sections, elevations, 3D linework, and coded points that your team can model from.
