3D Scanning in Pittsburg, CA

Pittsburg's deep-water frontage on New York Slough gave the city a century of heavy industry, and heavy industry is where laser scanning does its most obvious work. Process plants, power generation, marine terminals, and the fabrication and warehousing that grew up around them are built from geometry that is expensive to guess at: tank shells and roofs, pipe racks and tie-in points, structural steel, crane rails, wharf decks and fender systems, and slabs that have been patched and re-poured for decades. Scanning captures all of it from the ground in one campaign, safely, without confined-space entry or working at height, and produces a dataset an engineer can measure from at a desk for years afterward.

We establish and observe a survey control network, register every scan to it, and deliver on published horizontal and vertical coordinates, which is what turns a point cloud into a clearance survey, a structural as-built, or a monitoring epoch instead of a pretty picture.
