ADA Ramp Surveys in Moraga, CA

Moraga rebuilds its curb ramps through its street program. The town's pavement rehabilitation projects have included installing and upgrading substandard curb ramps alongside pavement, storm, and curb and gutter repair, phased across multiple construction seasons on the roads that carry the town: Moraga Road, Rheem Boulevard, Moraga Way, and Saint Mary's Road. The routes those ramps serve run to the Moraga Center and Rheem Center commercial areas, the school sites, and the Saint Mary's College campus, which is its own accessibility problem, a large hillside campus where the paths between parking, residence halls, classrooms, and athletic facilities climb and fall constantly and where an accessible route has to be found rather than assumed.

Campus and site routes are why we measure with a scanner. Walking a mile of hillside path with a two-foot level produces readings; scanning it produces a surface, and a surface lets you compute running slope and cross slope continuously along the route, find the segments that exceed 1:12 or 1:48, locate every landing that falls short of 60 inches, and flag changes in level at joints and thresholds, all in one visit and one coordinate frame. The same applies to a parking lot on a slope, where accessible stalls and access aisles must hold 1:48 in every direction and asphalt overlays quietly break that. For ramps in the public right of way, we compare the built geometry against the Caltrans standard plan detail, including flared sides and detectable warning placement.

Deliverables are route and per-location slope exhibits, spot elevations, dimensioned CAD plans, and the registered point cloud when your team wants to keep it.
